David Walliams Flaps About In The Channel

Little Britain star, David Walliams is attempting to swim all the way to France to raise money for UK charity Sports Relief. He’s cobbled together an impressive $642,000 and looks in good shape to succeed. Walliams recently completed an 8 hour qualifying swim in Croatia, but it’ll take him an estimated 10-15 hours to cross the Channel.

It’s not just the distance (21 miles) he has to worry about, part of his training has been to ‘fatten up’ to help cope with the Channel’s notoriously cold waters.

Walliams left Folkestone at 5.40am to secure the maximum amount of daylight, meaning he should arrive some time in the early evening. That is of course if he isn’t eaten by a mutated turd or drowned in child sick by passing ferries.
